Work is performed on energized and de-energized systems. Prepares materials and tools for use as directed by Journeyman Lineman, will insure tool and material set-up is accomplished safely. Loads and unloads material; raises and lowers material and tools by use of hand lines; dismantle materials removed from line; loads trucks; digs holes for poles and anchors, drives ground rods and pulls wires.

Job requires the ability to perform rigorous physical labor; ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, work in confined spaces and not have a fear of heights greater than 10 feet.

Must have the ability to progress, and with the expectation and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job (Lineman) and be qualified through demonstration, examination, and/or performance appraisal as determined by the company. Must be a self-starter with great attention to detail.

Perform duties in accordance with the company's safety rules, regulations and practices, and report unsafe conditions and practices; become familiar with the use and care of insulating rubber gloves, sleeves, and other personal protective equipment. Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
